Hearing aids normally have a life span of approximately six to eight years. However, due to the nature of the small electronic components combined with the reality of ear wax, hearing aids normally require a repair at least once a year. The usual repair consists of a thorough cleaning of the interior plus replacement of the receiver and/or microphone. Occasionally, if a battery door has been broken off, or if the hearing aid has gotten wet, additional work beyond the Basic Repair Charge will be required. In this event, Nova*Sonic will call you to get permission to do the work for the extra charge. If required, a circuit and all new parts can be put into analog hearing aids, thereby giving you many more years of wear before having to purchase a new one.
